In a paragraph, how does Youth in Action describe “leading with”?  Youth in Action mission statement Mission:
Youth in Action gives the space for youth share their stories, practice leadership, and create change in their communities. The different things that help with leading youth are the 3 different phases. The different phases are: core, immersion, and Collective. All these phases combined is what the program is doing to help lead the youth in a positive direction. Youth in Action helps so many youths in many different areas.  
The 3 phrases are:
Core works with youth to tell their story and deeply listen to others stories. Youth place their multiple identities and communities under the microscope and examine their role and impact in creating a world they want to live. Focused on emotional development and identity in youth leadership.
Immersion explores facilitation and peer education. Focused on social development, youth discover what strengths they bring to a group. Youth design and facilitate workshops on student centered learning and community health for their peers and for adults working with youth. These workshops aim to educate and build mutual respect.
Collective programming celebrates legacy and stewardship through a member owned model. Youth sit on the Board of Directors, assist in fundraising efforts, and begin to create change at the policy level. During this phase youth make meaningful links between passion and career.

Event

Saturday, I went to the Open House Event. It was a good turn out, and a lot of YDEV people came. The Open House was in the Murray Center and I think it was a better place than last year. Last years Open House was in the Student Union, and there wasn’t much space.  A lot of YDEV people came representing in their t-shirts. I event met people in the major I did know before. It was a good turnout. I hope each year brings more people to become familiar with this major and all the things it does.
